kurama mountain and birthday in japan - kyoto report 5

one of our best days in japan was andres birthday. we spent this day (or better 1 1/2 days) with ryo and maiko. first of all we bought a birthday cake for andre, because we wanted to gave him this cake at midnight. while andre went to a dojo for a ninjutsu training ryo, maiko and i bought a "chocolate bomb" at takashimaya. it think this was one of my best decisions ever :) the cake was soooooooooo mega delicious!!!

my boyfriend is a real chocoholic!!!! nothing it to sweet for him and he love choclate so much. this cake was def. the right choise :) but before we gave him the cake we had great dinner with some small dishes and yuzu nabe!!!

on the next day was andres real birthday and we drove to kurama. it's a nice place in the mountains near kyoto and it's famous because of the history of yoshitsune and a great onsen resort. it was cold and it snowed and not many people were around this area. for me, such places are the "real japan". and i really love it to spend my time there ;)
here some pics of kurama mountain:

famous kurama tengu and funny merchandise :)

we walked the whole day!!! steps, steps, steps. it snowed, it was cold but we walked and walked and walked.... it was soooooo stressfull!!! but a nice prize waited for me :) a bath in the kurama onsen. unfortunately i couldn't make pics in the onsen but i found a fitting pic in the internet. it was the same situation. not many people, nice open air bath in the middle of the mountains, it was dark and it started snowing. it was like you know it from animes :) 100% perfect!!!

andre was so happy. for him, this was the perfect birthday :) after the bath we went back to kyoto and had (i was still full from our lunch) dinner in an nice izakaya. our table neigbours also celebrated a birthday - and it turned out that the whole guests and the restaurat stuff sang for andre and the japanes guy happy birthday and andre got a bottle of champanger and a dessert for free. it was really a perfect day :)

 the birthday people :)
thank you my dear for sharing the dessert with me ^^

In der Nähe von Tokyo gab es auch einen solchen Ort, aber mir ist der Name entfallen und ich komm grad nicht mehr drauf, peinlich.
Den Geburtstag dort zu feiern muss genial sein ^-^
